Structure

Mumbulla School is structured as an independent body offering Ruldolf Steiner Education. We are

• incorporated as a non-profit company with limited liability
• funded by fees, as well as grants on a per capita basis from the State and Commonwealth Government
• a member of the Australian Independent Schools NSW
• registered and accredited with the NSW Board of Studies
• a member of the Rudolf Steiner Schools Association.

The structure is as follows:
• the College of Teachers - responsible for all educational decisions
• the Board of Directors - oversees financial and policy decisions
• the Parent Community

Board of Directors

Financial and administrative decisions are made at 3-weekly meetings of the Board of Directors. These decisions are arrived at by a process of discussion and consensus agreement. Business meetings are open to all members of the school community.

At our Annual General Meeting - generally held in May each year - the current directors stand down and a new board is appointed. The Board of Directors is made up of between six to twelve people, with equal numbers of parents and teachers. All parents are welcome to join the Board of Directors. To become a member of the Board, parents should ask at the Office for the correct procedure. The memorandum and articles of the company and all school policies are available to all parents from the office.

College of Teachers

The teachers of Mumbulla School meet each week to discuss the curriculum and the progress of the children in their care. Teachers work with mentors and undertake professional development. Parents are welcome to bring any concerns to the teachers’ attention.

Heart Group

This group consists of a representative from the parents, teachers and directors. The role of the group is to enhance communication between groups, to operate as a support for parents and to be available to people who wish to bring sensitive or confidential matters to the attention of the school. Please feel free to approach any members of this group at any time.
