FestivalsMumbulla School celebrates significant turning points in the rhythm of the year. The children look forward to the festivals, which are the culmination of each season. Although aspects of each celebration may vary from year to year, there are also some well-established traditions. At Mumbulla School seasonal festivals are celebrated at the end of each term. The Autumn/Easter Festival is held in the last week of Term 1, with classes usually attending family camps in the local area. The Winter Festival brings us all together on a chilly winter’s evening in the school grounds, warmed by each other’s company and the pleasure of watching the children’s Winter play or candle spiral. We greet the coming of Spring with a day of fun and games by the sea. It is usually ideal kite flying weather. The Christmas/Summer Festival culminates with a play presented by either the children, parents or teachers, Christmas carols and farewells to our Class 6 children on their last day with us. We warmly invite your family to participate in our festivals. Each has its own atmosphere but common to all is the celebration of the gift of life and of the Earth’s gifts to us all. Kindergarten share some festivals with the Primary school but celebrates others independently.
Open DaysOpen days usually take place in June and in September. This gives you the opportunity to have a school tour, meet the teachers informally over a cuppa and listen to one of our teachers talk about an aspect of Steiner education. Dates for Open Days are posted in the Diary Dates page.
